The ASUS Z97-A is at the bottom of ASUS’ Z97 enthusiast stack but it is far from a "low end" motherboard. In fact we would suggest this is probably one of the best motherboards that ASUS builds considering the bang for the buck factor. If you are looking for great quality and features at a low cost that just happens to be a great overclocker as well, it is hard to look past the ASUS Z97-A. It is selling today for $144.99 with Prime Shipping.

At the conclusion of the testing, I found that all the associated technologies from ASUS just worked as intended. It's hard to go wrong with either the Z97-A or Z97-Deluxe NFC & WLC. However, if the NFC & WLC feature set is not on your go-to list, then the Z97-A is right up your alley.

It is really hard to believe that this is ASUS’s entry-level Z97 motherboard. Even looking back at the Z87-A, this board offers much more and you can see where ASUS made the improvements. If you are looking to get into the Z97 platform at an affordable price the Z97-A is the perfect choice. Right now you can pick up the Z97-A at my favorite online retailer for $149.99, which makes it such a great value.
