FREMONT, May 1st, 2025 - St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA), a nationally recognized leader in technology-driven education, through a strategic collaboration with ASUS aimed to elevate student learning, foster STEM innovation, and build a championship-caliber esports program. This collaboration continues SJA’s long-standing commitment to using technology as a transformational force for young women’s education.

For decades technology has been deeply woven into the fabric of SJA’s mission. Named a STEM School of Excellence by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) for two consecutive years, SJA even pioneered one of the nation’s first 1:1 laptop programs, and built a STEM Lab featuring laser cutters, micro-computers, and 3D printers. Students have competed — and won — at national and international science, technology, and robotics competitions, while leading global service initiatives to bring technology access to underserved communities. The school also established a student-run Help Desk, empowering students to manage technology and support their peers through real-world IT experience.

Building on this legacy, SJA selected ASUS to support its next chapter of innovation. The new deployments include:

  • ASUS ExpertBook B3 Flip: An easily repairable learning device featuring a 360° hinge for versatile learning modes and a garaged stylus for real-time annotation. The device also includes ASUS Antibacterial Guard and a TÜV Rheinland-certified display for added safety and eye care.
  • ROG G16CH Desktops: High-performance gaming desktops deployed in the Esports Lab, delivering smooth, reliable gameplay for fostering teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving skills.
  • ROG Ally X Handheld PCs: Portable Windows-based devices used in STEM labs to run educational simulation games like Cell to Singularity, helping make scientific learning more interactive and engaging.

Through these technology upgrades, St. Joseph’s Academy has enhanced both academic programs and extracurricular activities across the school community.

"The stylus has been life-changing for me," said Stephanie Faucette, English Teacher at St. Joseph’s Academy. "Before, I had to verbally explain close reading and annotations. Now, I can model those skills in real time, and my students can follow along and learn more effectively."

The introduction of ASUS ROG G16CH desktops has also elevated the school’s growing esports program, giving students the tools to develop competitive gaming skills, strategic thinking and collaboration. With the esports technology in place, students can now actively participate in competitions such as the High School Esports League (HSEL).

"The ROG G16 Desktop has significantly improved our students’ gaming experience," said Taylor Templet, Esports and IT Manager at St. Joseph’s Academy. "Smooth gameplay and fast loading times make a huge difference, not just in competition, but in how students learn to problem-solve under pressure."

Beyond performance in the classroom and esports arena, ASUS technology also supports SJA’s Self-Maintainer Program, an innovative student-led Help Desk initiative. Student technicians undergo a rigorous internship through the Academy’s computer architecture class, gaining hands-on IT experience while reducing downtime campus-wide. With its repair-friendly design the ASUS ExpertBook line empowers students to take ownership of device maintenance and develop critical technical skills. Throughout the partnership, ASUS worked closely with St. Joseph’s Academy to ensure a seamless technology integration, supporting the school’s ongoing commitment to innovation across academics and extracurricular programs.
